Butternut shortwave vertical antennas

Butternut (now belonging to Bencher) manufactures HF antennas since 1981. The multiband verticals work very efficiently, also on the low bands. Due to it's robust construction and simple setup, the HF-6V and HF-9BV are among the most popular all-purpose antennas for DX-peditions. The vertical antennas require a ground radial network which is crucial for proper operation. All adjustment points are on the lower part of the antenna and easily reachable, hence facilitating the alignment. The antennas can be mounted on ground or in an elevated position. Any 50Ω coax feed of any length can be used.
Max. power load is 2KW PEP at 80/40/20/15/10m, 500W PEP on 30/6m, 800W PEP on 17 and 12m.

HF-2V - 80 & 40m vertical antenna

Optimal output on 80 and 40m because the full length of 9.8m is used on both bands. Optionally available is the "TLK" top loading kit for better bandwidth, as well as extension kits for 160 and 30m.

Included with the antenna is a 1¼" base tube (60cm long). The antenna requires a radial system, e.g. the Butternut GRK ground radial kit (see accesories).

HF-6V - 5-Band vertical antenna

Take advantage of all HF bands from 80 to 6m with high efficiency - without losses through traps. Both antennas (HF-6V, HF-9V) are only 7.9m high and can be mounted directly on the ground or elevated on a roof top. Easy to set up, solid construction. When mounting the antennas on the ground a radial system is required, for restricted space the "CPK" counter poise kit is available (see accessories).
The HF-6V can be extended to 12 and 17m with the extension kit A-12-17, or to 6m with the extension kit A-6 (see accessories). Both antennas can make use of the optional kit TBR-160S for 160m.

Included with the antenna is a 1¼" base tube (60cm long). The antenna requires a radial system, e.g. the Butternut GRK ground radial kit or the CPK or RMK-II (roof mounting kit) (see accesories).

HF-9V 9-Band vertical antenna

Similiar to HF-6V. but for 9 bands: 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 and 6m. For 160m an optional extension kit is available.

Included with the antenna is a 1¼" base tube (60cm long). The antenna requires a radial system, e.g. the Butternut GRK ground radial kit or the CPK or RMK-II (roof mounting kit) (see accesories).

Counterpoise for situations with restricted space, where traditional radials cannot be used. Consist of four 170cm long aluminum rods which span a square of about 245cm side length. Should be mounted above head height (approx. 2m) for security reasons. Weight 4.1kg

Radial kit for ground installed HF2V, HF6V oder HF9V, consists of 12 radials with 9.2m length, including installation material.
