EH antenas

El diseño de las antenas EH se ha discutido (muchs veces controbertido) durante algunos años. Despues de muchas practicas tests y resultados positivos de los amateurs estas antenas són ahora disponibles para los profesionales del sector de la radio amateur.

Las antenas EH antenas trabajan diferente que las del dipolo de Hertz. Con un dipolo de Hertz tradicional el E y H componentes no estan en fase, esto afecta en que la radiacion no se forma hasta cierta distancia (>1 longitud de la onda). Las antenas EH usan un sistema de fase para alinear las 2 fases E y H, y dirigida a un campo de radiación mucho más cercano a la antena. Por lo que tenemos antenas mucho más pequeñas con una eficiencia comparable a un dipolo más largo. Generalmente los tamaños són de un 2-3% de la longitud de la onda.


Las antenas EH són mono banda. Con el tamaño compacte se puede instalar en cualquier sitio, especialmente las antenas para las bandas bajas como 80 y 160m. Tambien estas antenas tienen un bajo ruido.

The radiation pattern is not published by the manufacturer at this time. EH antenas are vertical antenas, so the azimuth diagramm is similiar to any omni direccional antena. The elevation diagram is comparable to that of any traditional vertical antena, e.g. a quarter wavelength radiator with a Ganancia of 0 to +2 dBD.

El conector es un PL hembra en un lado de la antena. El cable es de 50 Ω, no necesita acoplador. Se incluye el material para el montaje.
Para ajustar la antena al centro de la frecuencia se usa un simple alineamiento.

Datos tecnicos de las antenas EH

*1) Los modelos 80m y 160m tienen un diametro de 8cm, en la parte inferior hay un pequeño saliente de 12,5 cm de diametro.

Compact EH-antena para CB
La versión 'Cobra 11' con: Longitude de 68cm, frecuencia 26,5 a 28MHz, ancho de banda de approx. 2MHz y SWR de 2:1 o mejor. Poténcia Max. 600 Watt SSB/CW, 150 Watt AM/FM.
Como todas las antena EH ya está ajustada, se puede terminar de ajustar. Eficiencia del 95%, Ganancia 0 dBD (como un dipole). Incluye abracedaras para el montaje, conector PL. No obstruye, debido a su tamaño compacto ideal para camping, balcones etc. Diametro 8cm, Peso 1.3kg.

Q: Las antenas EH sirven para multi banda?
A: No, las antena EH antenas són mono bands, sirven sólo para la banda que ha sido creada.

Q: Que ancho de banda puede tener una antena EH?
A: Una antena EH puede usarse en toda la banda con una buena SWR.

Q: Hay alguna antena EH para 11m CB?
A: Yes.

Q: Puedo usar la antena para 10m (12m) EH en 11m (CB)?
A: No, tenemos una antena específica para 11m (CB).

Q: Hay alguna antena para la banda pirata de 45m?
A: Yes, bajo pedido.

Q: Tengo que ajusta la antena EH ?
A: Todos los modelos tienen la opcion de una just fino. Con un simpe medidor de SWR puedes terminar de ajustarla.

Q: Puedo usar la antena EH para SWLs, i.e. sólo para escuchar?
A: Sí, dentro de la banda específica de la antena EH.

Q: How should the EH antena be installed?
A: como any other antena - clear of other conductive items, as high as possible. A distance of a half wavelength to other resonant objects (masts, tubes etc.) is recommended. The antena can be installöed on the ground but at least 2 to 3 meters above ground (model "Cobra"), model "Venus" best 3 to 4 meters above ground.

Q: Que efecto tienen otros objetos (arboles, casas etc.) en la proximidad de la antena?
A: Comparado con muchos de los arboles, casas etc. las antena EH són pequeñas. Esto significa que necesitamos una distáncia de la mitad de la longitud de onda como ideal.

W: Las antenas EH necesitan radiales?
A: No.

Q: Las antena EH requiren una longitud especifica del cable?
A: No, puedes usar la longitud que quieras.

La pasada semana hice mas tests con la antena EH-Cobra. Primero yo la ajusté a SWR abt. 1:1.1.
Subí al Pizzo di Vogorno (2'448m snm) en el Canton Ticino
y trabajé con una poténcia de 5 W.
Entre las 11:50 y 13:15 UTC trabajé las siguientes estaciones:
SK0QO, RX3AP, YO8YF, IR0BP, UT2FA/p, YO9WF/j, SM6FPZ, EW8WW, IK0OVJ,  LY2FE/qrp.
Estoy mus satisfecho de los resultados.
Encontraras muchas fotos de esta micro DX-pedicion....

Hello,
I just wanted to give you an early report on my Cobra  240.
I have been following the intellectual debates on the EH antena
para over a year now and thought the best thing to do was to jump
in and try it para myself. The antena arrived Friday (3 days after
ordered on line from WIMO) so first opportunity to do anything was
this morning (Saturday) - 0600 local time ... I felt como a kid at
Christmas ...
I set the unit up in my garden with the antena mounted on a wooden
stake 4 feet long to allow adjustments. Using my mfj259 analyser I
established a flat 1:1 swr across the part of the 20 meter band that
I use most often. 14.0 - 14.150 (took 10 minutes,  mostly because I
had to walk back and forth from shack to garden). My first qso was
with a VK followed by a ZL followed by a number of locals in Moscow.
Wow ... I'm in Bristol, England. I'm afraid to move it from the current
position where the top of the antena is about 6 feet above the ground!!
Too bad this is a monobander ... oh well, big decision now is how many
more to put up!

Hello,
at present I have only tried the antena at 3 metres from the ground in the
parking of the block of flats where I live and have obtained excellent
results.
Although propagation this morning was scarce, I was able to connect area 43
(Australia) with R5 S5. After that I listened to a station in 112 (Lebanon)
and finally a station on the sea in the Gulf of Guinea, both with good
signals.
Unfortunately, at least para today, I wasn't able to try the antena in local
QSO ...
The values of VSWR registered during my tests were really good (power
100watts):

During the entire test, the frequency was clean and without QRN, something
very difficult to obtain with a classic vertical antena!
The station I used:

Coax line RG58 (about 11 meters)
Well, para the moment I am very satisfied!

I purchased a Venus 160 from you more or less six months ago. Because of
various works done to my home, I was able to install and try the antena
only last Saturday.
I put the eh on a 45 mm mast and put the antena at about 4 meters from the
roof. There are no other metallic obstacles or whatsoever around it that may
jeopardize the irradiation. I used a very normal rg213, having a length of
about 25 meters.
As soon as I verified the VSWR, amazingly I verified a 1:1,4 resonance at
1,820KHz and a bandwidth of well over 30 KHz. This made me hope very well
para my tests on air.
Unfortunately, the only station I was able to find in telegraphy (during the
time I had available and at that time of the day) was a station of the Czech
Republic  OK  which gave me a 559 report. I was using my usual 100 watts
power. I make the tuning with the one inside my receiver. It only takes 7 /
10 seconds to find the right resonance para the entire system.
In the next days I'll send you my QSOs and some photos of the installation.

Guten Tag,

auch ich besitze eine WIMO-antena EH-Monobandantenne für das 11 Meter Band.

Mit erfreulichen Ergebnisse kann man auch in einer begrenzden Umgebung ( Balkon im Hinterhof, 3. OG ) mit der EH-antena DX-QSO´s führen.

Kann ich nur empfehlen, für 15 / 12 / 11 oder 10 Meter Bändern.
