Letter from Glen John W0GJ of Bhutan fame to HEIL about PRO SET PLUS
"...The are singularly THE most comfortable headset I've ever used. Nothing comes
close. Can switch between the HC-4 and HC-5 mike elements (I don't know why any DXer
would ever use anything but the HC-4....but for the others, HC-5 is FB.), and the
"ear muffs" are actual tuned cavities with a switch to vary the phasing between the
sides.....VERY helpful in those rough CW pileups.....it spatially separates the
signals in your head!
I liked the prototype so much, I bought TWO more of the first pre-production models.
The headsets are spendy, over $200 each, but they will be the standard of the
industry. The cheapskates and complainers will whine at the cost, like they do
about everything else, but you sure get what you pay for with these headsets!
Drawback: They are on the big and bulky side, but I still can't figure how something
so "big" can feel SO GOOD for long periods of time! Simply amazing. This proves the
point: Size does NOT matter! Hi...hi ! Bob Heil has outdone himself and done a
BIG favor to the amateur radio community.
I'm taking mine to the next ham club to let people try them on. Everyone in my family
and a few friends that have dropped by, I've showed them to. It's kinda cute to watch
everyone break into a big smile! I'm sure they, like me, are amazed they feel so
comfortable. It's not only comfortable, but a star performer. It's also extremely
rugged. I've always like my BM-10's, but they are a fragile little thing compared
to this "battle tank."
Hey, I sound like a salesman. It's simply the truth, however.
How soon does the Ducie trip start for you?
Hope to see you at Dayton!
73!
