IC-7000

Awaited since quite a while - now available in Germany: the new IC-7000 compact transceiver. All modes on all bands: HF, 50MHz, 144MHz and 430MHz.

Based on the unparalleled success of the IC-706 series the IC-7000 offers even more possibilities in an even smaller case. The most obvious feature is the color LCD screen with it's many possibilities. And - like with the 'big' Icoms - the IC-7000 is equipped with a powerful DSP at the IF level, an established and proven technology in amateur radio designs.

The IF DSP offers a lot of possibilities, for example

• a fast and precise AGC circuit
• nearly endless options for filters
• two very sharp manual notch filters
• digital noise reduction
• digital noise blanker
• DSP speech compressor
• digital voice recorder

With the easy to read LC display (2.5" color TFT) the usage of the IC-7000 has become even more easier, all controls are accesible on the front panel.

One highlight of the color LC screen is the bandscope, also inherited from the 'big' Icom radios. It allows the user to monitor band conditions and activity at a glance. Or use the color multi-instrument, displaying power, SWR, ALC and compressor level all together, even along with the amplifier temperature!

The digital voice recorder allows the transmission of four recordings, most suitable for contesting or calling CQ. And there is more: In up to 99 memories you can record received signals for later playback, up to 25 minutes. Or just jump to the decode screen and monitor RTTY transmission - the decoder is built in.

The maximal power output of the IC-700 is 100W on HF, 50W on 2m and 35W on 70cm. The minimum power on all bands is 2W, making the radio also very suitable for QRP enthusiasts and E-Class licensees in Germany.

The control panel can be removed and installed elsewhere (requires optional separation kit). The included remote control microphone HM-151 with backlit keys allows safe and easy control even while driving.

IC-7000 Microphone modification

Many users of the new IC-7000 complained about a 'flat' modulation with little punch and not very good sound. Now you can change this: with the modification of the original mike HM151 the modulation is significantly improved and the modulation level increased.

With the modification a new microphone capsule is installed, the internal matching network is modified as well as the case (internally). The modified microphone convinces with a clear and stronger modulation in SSB as well as in FM or AM. For a modification you have to send the original microphone to WiMo, the modification costs including all required parts 45,00 Euro.

Product HM-151-MOD: You receive a new modified HM-151, in case you donÄt already have a microphone.
Product IC-7000-MIC: We modify an existing HM-151 for you. Either send in you unmodified HM-151 or order with a new IC-7000.

Program Icom handheld radios conveniently at your computer: Enter and manage memory channels. D-Star enabled radios allow setting of al lD-Star related parameters. Store and print the memory list on your computer, copy memory contents to another radio (cloning function). Open several memory files at once for easiercopying and management. The radio is connected with the supplied programming cable to a serial (COMx) or USB port of your computer (WCS-7000 uses USB, all other COM port). The programming kist software works with Windows2000, XP and Vista.

The Icom ID-E880 is a compact mobile transceiver for 2m and 70cm. It supports FM, AM (rx only) and DV D-Star, so it is ready for the modern digital mode. The transmit power is 50W on both bands (switchable to 15 and 5W).

D-Star operation is greatly simplified by two buttons on the front panel: "DR" selects on of 300 memories with D-Star repeaters, the button "UR" selects the downlink destination. This is an enormous help and makes operation while driving much mor comfortable. The supplied DTMF microphone offers a lot of remote control functions.

The ID-E880 offers a total of 1052 memories, which can be assigned individual names (8 characters). For easier organization the memories can be arranged in 26 banks. A free downloadable software (CS-880, download at Icom Japan website) greatly facilitates the programming of memories and other settings of the radio. The program is designed for WIndows, but also works under Linux using 'wine'. To use the software an optional cable (OPC-1529R or OPC-478 or OPC-478UCC) is required.

Use of GPS via D-Star is also possible. In contrast to other Icom radios no own GPS receiver is offered, instead you can use any GPS receiver with a serial interface, connected to the DATA port. Optional cable OPC-1529R adapts the GPS port of the radio to a standard serial connector.

The removeable front panel is attached with strong magnets to the main body or to any other metallic (magnetic) surface. A mounting plate and a 3.4m long separation cable is included in shipment. The colour of the display cab e selected from green, yellow or amber.

Difference between OPC-478/OPC-478UC and OPC-1529R
The cables OPC-478 (serial type) and OPC-478UC (USB type) have a 3.5mm phone plug and are connected to the loudspeaker output for programming. This of course turns off the audio. The OPC-478xx cables can be used with various other Icom radios as well.
The OPC-1529R cable has a 2.5mm phone plug and is connected to the separate DATA jack of the radio. With this the internal loudspeaker remains audible, the cable can stay connected all the time (good for GPS).

Dualband FM Mobile transceiver with digital communications (Option)
The Icom IC-E2820 is a true dualband transceiver for VHF/UHF offering V/V and U/U operation (receving two signals in the same band). A highlight are the two antenna connectors, offering true diversity reception, always selecting the best signal quality from each antenna.
With the option UT-123 the transceiver is capable of cusing the new D-Star digital voice and data communications. This digital repeater system is currently developing in Europe and allows simultaneous voice and slow-speed data communications. Additonally GPS position data can be transmitted with the GPS antenna included in the UT-123 option.
The IC-E2820 offers max. 50W transmit power on 2m and 70cm, morethan 500 memories, a wideband receiver, selectable display colour any much more. The large display is very easy to read and can be mounted either on the body of the radio or separately. Packet operations is possible with the integrated data socket (6-pin mini DIN), a DTMF and remote control microphone (HM-133 is included.

65W* of output power
A MOS-FET power amplifier provides 65W* of stable output power. A one piece, aluminum chassis helps to keep the transceiver cool and provides durable long-lasting construction. (* Depending on version.)

Optional digital unit
The optional unit provides digitally modulated and demodulated clear voice and data communication at 4.8kbps. Store up to 6 of your own callsigns, and up to 6 more from other stations. Or instead of recording a callsign, record any message of up to 20 characters. You may then make a call by sending one of your callsigns or a recorded CQ message. The digital callsign squelch allows you to choose an incoming call selected by the callsign. When connected to an external GPS receiver*, position information may be exchanged with other stations. (* NMEA 0183 output and RS-232C interface are required.)

Simple operation
The IC-2200H retains a familiar user interface to the IC-2100H. The large tuning dial provides easy access to active channels even without looking at the front panel. Secondary functions are easily recalled by holding the appropriate button.

Dynamic Memory Scan (DMS)
With a total of 207 alphanumeric memory channels, Icom’s exclusive DMS system allows you to scan selected memory banks by simply adding and deleting bank links.

CTCSS and DTCS operation standard
The IC-2200H contains 50 CTCSS and 104×2 DTCS encode/decode plus tone scan functions. The “pocket beep” feature gives you an audible and visual indicator of an incoming call.
