This design can be used with all Icom transceiver which have the CI-V interface (practically all HF rigs and some VHF rigs). The logging software receives the band information over the serial port, PTT/CW keying is done over the serial port. Due to the use of the branch cable the ACC socket on the radio remains free for other purposes, e.g. amplifier. The parallel port on the PC remains free for other purposes, e.g. rotor interface or printer.
