This design can be used with all Kenwood transceivers with the RS-232 interface. The logging software controls the transceiver (incl. keying) over the serial interface, as well as receives the band information over the same interface. Due to the use of the branch cable the Remote socket on the transceiver remains free for other puposes, e.g. amplifier. The parallel port on the PC can be used for other purposes, e.g. rotor interface or printer.
