PowerPoles Universal connector system for DC power distribution

Anderson PowerPole connectors are connectors for DC voltages from 12 to 48V and more. The connectors are designed as universal (unisex) system and can be connected any to any. The plastic part have a tongue and groove system which allows solid attachment of each component or to construct larger connectors for higher currents or distribution systems.

The benefit of the PowerPole connector is the construction of the mechanical contact. Tjis is constructed i na way, that each mating of the connectors wipes over the contact surface, cleaning it each time. The contacts are mated on a large surface area and allow high currents of up to 45A. A steel spring inside the housing presses the contacts onto each other with sufficient force, assuring a secure and reliable contact. All metal parts are protected by the housing against accidental contavt to other metal parts. Additional tools help in manufacturing cables and contacts very quickly.

Various emergency communication organisations (e.g. Notfunkgruppe of DARC e.V.)across the world have standardized on the PowerPole connectors for al lDC connections. This ensures that all equipment can be easily exchanged and used together without connection problems.

Anderson PowerPoles®

The PowerPole connectors are available in various versions. We offer contacts for three ranges of current: 15, 30 and 45A. The contacts can be either crimped or soldered to the wire.

Included in shipment are 20 plastic housings (10 red, 10 black) and 20 contacts.

Anderson PowerPoles® Dust Cap

The Dust Cap protects open cables against dirt and dust. Just push it on the open PowerPOle connectors. Weatherproof, reuseable.

PowerPole® Wings

PP-WING2 mounted

The 'wings' are used to install two or more PowerPole connectors into a cabinet (power supply, radio etc.). The benefit is that the cut-out for the connectors does not need to be very precise. The wings are easily mounted and offer a solid and nice looking fitting for 2 or more PowerPole connectors. Included in shipment: 1 set, 1 piece left/right or top/bottom each.

PowerPole® Panel plate with two 4-way installation frames

The PowerPole plate is an panel installation plate for any equipment like power supply, battery enclosures, vehicle panels, radios etc. It consists of a base plate with cut-outs for two snap-in frames for 4 contacts each (total 8 contacts). Required fastening pins are included.

PowerPole® Snap-In Frame

Snap-In frame for devices with 4 or 8 PowerPole contacts. Can be used on power supplies, battery enclosures or power distributors. Requires a cut-out of 25.4 x 31.8mm or 25.4 x 47.8mm. With all 4 contacts installed the conacts mate directly with any PowerPole connector or the 4-way cable jacks (PP-CMONT, see below). Required PowerPoles and fastening pins are included.

4 contact cable jack with and without locking function. For fast and easy connection of two 4-wire cables, or cable to a connector on a device, reverse polarity protected. Fits directly to the contacts fitted in to a PP-SNAP4 frame or any other 4-contact PowerPole connection. Shipment includes fastening pins and cable strain relief, model PP-CMONT4R includes 4 30A contacts as well.

PowerPole® Moisture Proof Cable Jack

PP-RUBBER

Moisture proof your outdoor or automotive connections. The moisture proof cable jack holds 2 sets of Powerpoles in mating male and female rubber boots. The wire input strain reliefs can be trimmed to accommodate various gauges of wire and ensure a tight seal.

PowerPole connectors do hold together reliably up to a pull of approx. 3kg. With a stronger force the connection becomes separated. This is a good solution for situations where a fast disconnect is mandatory. But if you intend to have an absolutely locked connection, you can secure the connectors with the clips offered here. Suitable applications are in a car, boat, airplane or an RC vehicle with high vibration.

The PowerPole connector have small retention holes into which the fastening ping or thse clips fit. The Maxi-Clip additionally encloses the end of the connector housing.

PowerPole® Car Adaptor

PP-CIG

PP-CIG is an adaptor for 12V car cigar lighter sockets. This item should be with you at any time for emergencies. The adaptor has a built in LED for voltage control, plus a user serviceable fuse (20A). Max. rating 14V DC, 20A.

PowerPole® Insertion/Extraction Tool

Tool to insert or extract a PowerPole contact into or from the pastic housing. Insertion is also possible by hand, without tool, but extraction requires this tool. Suitable for all contact sizes, 15, 30 or 45A.

Crimpzange für PowerPoles®

PowerPOle contacts can be either soldered or crimped to the wire. Crimped connections - done with the right tool - are usually more reliable and faster to make than with a soldering iron. Further you don't need power, for example on a fieldday, up in the tower etc. The heavy, ratcheted crimp tool applies the correct pressure for crimping reliable and durable contacts. Sutiable for all contact sizes: 15, 30 and 45A.

PowerPole® Nibbling Tool

Nibbling Tool

This tool is required to easily make rectangular holes in an enclosure, box etc., for example to install snap-in frames. Requires a starting hole of 9.5mm diameter, cuts aluminium up to 1mm thickness, and plastic up to 1.5mm thickness.

Fuseholder

Fuseholder

A single fuseholder with molded cable. They separate the cable where you want and can paste it into the power supply. For a standard blade fuses like in the car sector. Delivered without fuse. Ideal also in combination with the Power Pole connectors to integrate the fuse box quickly into a cable.

Devices with PowerPole Connectors

WiMo offers a range of products, which are equipped with PowerPole connectors by the manufacturer. These are of course the RigRunner distribution strips, but also products like the MFJ-4416B Voltage Booster or the PG40S PowerGate backup switch. Further than that there are other devices on the market equipped with PowerPole connector, for example the Elecraft K3 transceiver.

RigRunner Distribution Strips for 5, 8, 10 or 12 radios. Some are euqipped with Over/Undervoltage warning, and switching function.

MFJ-4416B Voltage Booster, raises the battery voltage.

PG-40S Emergency Power Switch, switches automatically between power supply and backup battery, with charging circuitry for the battery.
