If you like the Yaesu VX-8E, you will love the FTM-350E!

The FM mobile transceiver FTM-350E offer similiar features like the well known handheld radio. The solid main unit is installed separatly from the control unit, a 3m cable is included. The large and easily readble LC display offers eight different background colours, the two bands (2m/70cm) can be displayed simultaneously. Mixed operation like V/V, V/U and U/U is possible, the left display offer additionally reception for AM and FM broadcasts. And the line-in input allows you to connect your MP3 player as well! The two loudspeakers, which are integrated in the back of the display unit offer stereo audio with FM broadcast.

500 memories per 'side' of the radio, plus many programmable band edges, priority channel etc. offer enough storage for all repeaters and your favorite frequencies. The built-in bandscope shows the band occupation, as good as any scanner does. The receiver covers 500-1700kHz (AM), 78-108MHz (WFM only), 108-250MHz (AM/FM) and 300-999MHz (FM).

An optional GPS antenna can be installed on the rear of the display unit, perfectly positioned for GPS staellites when the display is mounted on the dashboard in a car. As an alternative the GPS antenna can be installed with a cable separated from the display unit. And with GPS the whole world of APRS is open to you! Transmit your current position for other radio amateurs to see. And receive APRS beacons from other stations including weather stations. Even better: the built-in TNC (1k2, 9k6) works for APRS reception even without the GPS antenna.

Just as with the little companion VX-8E, the Yaesu FTM-350E offers the option for Bluetooth®. This offers hands-free VOX operation with a Bluetooth headset.

Many more features of the FTM-350E facilitates the use of the radio. The setup menu is very easy to navigate due to the large display, a built-in barometer shows the current athmosperic pressure, a built-in clock supports various timer functions, the usual data socket allows the connection of an external TNC... and much more...

Yaesu FTM-10E

The Yaesu FTM-10E is an exceptionally robust FM mobile transceiver für the 2m and 70cm band. The detachable control unit of the FTM-10E is weatherproof (waterproof, dustproof, IP57) and can be mounted externally, for example on a motor cycle. Integrated into the control unit is a microphone and a powerful speaker, so the control head can be used just like a handheld portable radio. Of course an optional handheld microphone is also available.
The operation of the FTM-10E is designed to be very simple and straightforward, only a few large buttons allow for a fast and secure operation, even under stressful conditions like a sports event. besides the powerful transmitter (max. 50W on 2m, max. 40W on 70cm) the radio offers a full and independet AM/FM broadcast receiver, enabling you to listen to an amateur band and to AM/FM broadcast at the same time. The up to 500 memories (with alphanumeric tagging) are easily handled by a sophisticated system.

The FTM-10SE is a different version of the radio where also the main body can be mounted outside, protection level IP57 (waterproof, dustproof). The transmit power of the FTM-10SE is max. 10W on 2m and max. 7W on 70cm. The main unit is always installed separately from the display unit, the display cannot be attached to the main body.

Here my experience with the BU-1 on the motorbike for your info. I use a
bluetooth headset with noise canceling microphone en DSP build in an
Arai openface helmet. The bike is a very noisy (heavy, sporty sounding
low tone 6 cilinder sound, i'm not happy with that but that is not
changable) goldwing trike.
-The vox option is very good, to bad it has only two positions: high,
low, then it even was better
-The pairing is easy but the description in the manual is wrong. You
need to restart the FTM10 while pressing the volume knob and not after
each other. took me an hour to find.
-I can walk about 10 meters from the bike and still talk.
-A friend who helped me testing the various options before this one was
astound when I called him on our clubfrequency. He thought i was kidding
him and not on the bike but at home. It sounded better than in the car.

FT-7900E: Compact 2m/70cm VHF / UHF Mobiltransceiver

FT-7900E

The FT-7900E provides 50 Watts of power on the 144 Mhz band, and 45 Watts on the 430 MHz, and is designed for simplicity of operation along with high performance in the receiver section. The FT-7900E is ideal for the active Ham who has a need for simplex, repeater, or FM satellite operation on both bands, but without the complication of cross-band repeat capability, which is available on our FT-8800R and FT-8900R models.
Included is the DTMF microphone MH-48A6J.

Over 1000 Memory Channels
The FT-7900E incredible memory channel capacity includes registers for over 1000 channels, each capable of storing a 6-character Alpha-Numeric label. And the memories may be stored in any of the 20 available memory groups; a particular memory channel may also be stored in multiple groups, if desired.

YSK-7800 Remote Mounting Kit (option)
Using the optional YSK-7800 Separation Kit, which contains both cabling and a bracket for the remote front panel, you can mount the FT-7900E front panel on the vehicle’s dash board, then stow the radio’s body under the seat or in some other convenient, out-of-the-way location. The cables are approximately 20 feet (6 m) in length.

One-Touch "Hyper Memory" Operation
Five front panel keys allow complete transceiver configuration status to be stored for convenient one-touch recall. So you can set up favorite frequencies in each operating band, including the receive-only bands, then recall them with a single touch of a button!

High Power Output
Boasting a big 50 Watts of power output on 144 MHz, and 45 Watts on 430 MHz, the FT-7900E also includes provision for three lower power levels, so you never have to use more power than you really need. The power level is stored in regular and Hyper Memory registers, too
