Supply Scope
- "Spider ASB" middle section
- Mast clamp for mast diameters from 19 to 44 mm
The Chameleon "Spider ASB" is a centre section for two dipoles built from mobile radiators for shortwave.
The "Spider ASB" centre section consists of a solid aluminium box in which eight 3/8" sockets and a PL socket are built in. Two "Hamstick" (aka "C-Whip") radiators (not included) can be inserted into two opposite 3/8" sockets . This way you get a multiband dipole for four bands, which is very light and easy to set up. The "C-Whip" radiators are each approx. 2.6m long, so the resulting dipole has a length of approx. 5.2m. The adjustment is done by changing the length of the radiators.
The connection on the box is a PL socket to which a coaxial cable can be connected directly. A tuner is usually not necessary because the antennas are tuned exactly to the operating frequency. The bandwidth is of course limited, depending on the band, as is the case with all strongly shortened antennas. The scope of delivery includes a mast clamp for mast diameters from 19 to approx. 44 mm. It is mounted on the top of the mast.
Note:
To set up a dipole, two radiators of the same band are required.
