Discone antennas are vertically polarised broadband antennas with horizontal omnidirectional characteristics. The frequency range of the antenna that can be used for reception is 25 to 1300 MHz; in individual amateur radio bands the adjustment is also correct for use as a transmitting antenna.
Despite the relatively low gain, discone antennas are often used as universal receiving antennas, because an enormously large frequency range can be covered with only one antenna. Typical applications are scanners, VHF band observation, broadcast reception for WFM, DBA and DVB-T and many more.
Height approx. 100 cm, radius 30 cm, the PL socket is weather-protected in the standpipe of the antenna. Weight approx. 1450 g. The supplied U-brackets for mast mounting allow mast diameters from 25 to 52 mm.
