Antenna on the PC under the table?
That gives bad radiation and poor range... Magnetic base with 55mm diameter, reverse SMA socket on the magnetic base, with 1 or 2m cable with reverse SMA plug. Or with 2m cable and Lucent (MC-Card) or MMCX connector, suitable for many PCMCIA cards. Ideal as an 'extension' for all antennas with RP-SMA connector such as 17010.13REV. The base has a foil on the underside to prevent scratching, the magnet protects against falling over.
However, it is only suitable to a limited extent for use on motor vehicles because of the additional wind pressure.
