Anderson PowerPole® - Connectors for DC voltages
Anderson PowerPole® connectors are connectors for DC voltages from 12 to 48V and more. The connectors are designed as universal (unisex) systems and can be connected any to any. The plastic part has a tongue and groove system which allows solid attachment of each component or to construct larger connectors for higher currents or distribution systems.
The benefit of the PowerPole connector is the construction of the metalic contact. This is constructed in a way that each mating of the connectors wipes over the contact surface, cleaning it each time. The contacts are mated on a large surface area and allow high currents of up to 45A. A steel spring inside the housing presses the contacts onto each other with sufficient force, assuring a secure and reliable contact. All metal parts are protected by the housing against accidental contact to other metal parts. Additional tools help in manufacturing cables and contacts very quickly.
Various emergency communication organisations (e.g. Notfunkgruppe of DARC e.V.) across the world have standardized on the PowerPole connectors for all DC connections. This ensures that all equipment can be easily exchanged and used together without connection problems.
