Technical description PA1090-15-1.5B-ADS-B
The PA1090-15-1.5B-ADS-B is a 15-element Yagi antenna for the reception of ADS-B signals on 1090 MHz. The design provides good directivity while rejecting interference that is not in the main direction of reception.
The antenna has an extremely robust construction and is designed to withstand wind speeds of up to 200 km/h. The one-piece, 1.42 m long boom can be attached to masts with diameters from 43 - 70 mm using the included mounting material (rear-mount). Matching is done by means of voltage balun, for connection of the coaxial cable the antenna has an N jack. The loop dipole is made of 3 mm copper wire, reflector and directors are made of aluminum rods and electrically insulated mounted on the boom.

While traditional airborne radar tracks aircraft by reflecting transmitted radar waves, ADS-B actively transmits position data from aircraft to the environment. In this process, the participants independently determine their own position using navigation satellites and send this data to the environment in standardized form via the 1090 MHz frequency.
If the antenna is installed at an exposed location with good obstacle clearance, even ADS-B signals can be received from longer distances of up to 1000 km. By vertically stoking the PA1090-15-1.5B-ADS-B, the gain can be further optimized and thus, for example, an even greater range can be achieved.
