Antennas for 4G/LTE

LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the name given to the successor to the UMTS network of the third generation (3G). This standard is commonly called "4G" (fourth generation). LTE 4G offers various advantages over the earlier standards. Firstly, the maximum possible transmission speed is much higher, and secondly, the connection is more stable and reliable, even while driving.

To achieve these advantages with LTE/4G, antennas with two connectors must be used. This technology is called MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output). The idea behind it is that two separate antenna systems (in one housing) can take the signal via reflections different paths and different contents. This increases the speed or improves the reliability if one path fails. Thus, effects that were previously perceived as disturbing, such as reflections, will be used profitably in the future with LTE 4G and the upcoming 5G technology.

WiMo offers a range of LTE antennas, most of which are to be mounted outside the house. Some antennas have ready-made cables connected to them, for other antennas we can offer custom-made cables of exactly the right length.

FAQ

What is a 4G/LTE antenna?
A 4G/LTE antenna is an external antenna used to amplify the signal from fourth generation (4G) and Long-Term Evolution (LTE) mobile networks. It is specifically designed to transmit data and voice on mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and other devices.
How does a 4G/LTE antenna work?
A 4G/LTE antenna works by amplifying the signal that is emitted from the mobile phone base station. It can amplify the signal through walls, trees, buildings and other obstacles, improving signal strength and quality. A 4G/LTE antenna can also receive the signal from different directions, resulting in better connectivity.
What types of 4G/LTE antennas are there?
There are several types of 4G/LTE antennas, including omnidirectional antennas, directional antennas, Yagi antennas, panel antennas and MIMO antennas. Omnidirectional antennas transmit and receive signals in all directions, while directional antennas transmit and receive signals in a specific direction. Yagi antennas are particularly useful in rural areas with poor network coverage. Panel antennas are flat and can be mounted on a wall, while MIMO antennas have multiple input channels and multiple output channels to increase signal strength.
