Omni-directional Antennas
Omnidirectional antennas have no directivity. They are therefore good for systems where the direction to the remote terminal is not known or changeable (mobile systems). The gain of omnidirectional antennas is relatively low, on the other hand such antennas can be built very small. This allows the developer to use multiple antennas, for example to build antenna diversity or MIMO systems.
Permanently installed omnidirectional radiators are suitable for supplying a larger region with a signal. The installation height of the antenna above ground plays a major role, because the radiation of a typical WLAN omni-antenna is very flat. Omnidirectional radiators for outdoor use must be weatherproof and offer appropriate mounting technology. WiMo also offers a large selection of these.
