"Bridgepoynt" are WLAN directional antennas for 5 GHz with a weather-protected empty housing for outdoor mounting. This housing is ideal for installing an access point or router. Due to the short cable connection to the antenna, the attenuation is minimal. The connection to the outside is made via a conventional Ethernet cable with RJ-45 plugs. The housing feed-through for the cable is (like the housing itself) water-protected (IP 65). This means that the electronics are always well protected.

Bridgepoynt is therefore ideal for setting up hotspots or point-to-point solutions where the cable length to an external antenna would otherwise be too long. The internal dimensions of the housing are completely sufficient for the usual circuit boards of access points and routers. The power supply for the built-in device should be provided via Power-over-Ethernet (POE). The supplied stainless bracket allows free tilting and swivelling of the enclosure.

The 5GHz antenna is now also available in a dual-polarity version. Two 5GHz antennas are integrated into the enclosure, one with vertical polarisation and a second with horizontal polarisation. With these two antennas, WLAN systems such as 802.11n (MIMO) can be better utilised and a higher transmission speed can be achieved. Both antennas have the same gain of about 18-20dBi ±0.5dB. The mutual decoupling of the two antennas is more than 35dB.
