The compact LoRa Sniffer from DXPatrol is a LoRa radio module for the frequency range of 430 - 440 MHz (70cm) that can use all possible functions of the LoRa standard. 

Using a handy app for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, it connects via Bluetooth at the touch of a button to allow access to all setup parameters such as transmission power, sensitivity, bandwidth, etc., receive communication from other LoRa nodes and send data via LoRa.

This combination of device and app is a powerful tool to use LoRa radio communication for testing and network maintenance.
By using 2 paired LoRa sniffers, valuable information about the network quality in a real scenario can be obtained.

The app provides a logging window with functions for formatting the received communication, an additional timestamp and the GPS location where each message was received. Each received message is provided with signal quality information such as CRC, SNR, RSSI and carrier frequency offset. The app also allows the logged data to be saved as a visual document in HTML or as a JSON log file.

Messages can be sent as ASCII or binary data.
Tools allow searching for channel activity, calculating transmission times for specific payloads or, when used with 2 devices, obtaining real-time information to optimize LoRa networks in the field.
In addition, the app can also be used to update the LoRaSniffer device's firmware.

Power is supplied via an internal LiPo battery, which can be charged via a USB port.
