Technical description

Shortened monoband dipoles for selected shortwave bands from EAntenna. Set-up including 1:1 EA balun (cladding wave blocker) for 1500 Watt transmit power, fully assembled. The achievable bandwidth at a SWR of 2:1 does not cover the whole band on 80m, i.e. the antenna has to be tuned before operation.

The EAntenna dipoles are characterised by a robust construction. The radiator is made of 2 mm diameter stranded copper wire, the black PVC jacket is UV resistant. The extension coils are wound from 1.68 mm2 solid wire. The length of the dipoles is adjusted to the lower end of the band (CW range), so that on installation and depending on the suspension, adjustment to the desired band range may still be necessary.

Application description

A monoband dipole is the simplest and most efficient dipole design. The dipole can be suspended in different ways depending on the structural conditions and, depending on height and suspension, achieves different directional characteristics. As an inverted-V set up close to the ground, it is an ideal omnidirectional antenna with strong steep radiation and thus good for local traffic. The higher the dipole hangs, the flatter the radiation, and the better the DX chances.

The shortened design makes it easier to find a place for the dipole in the garden. Insulators and wire clamps are included in the delivery. For installation, a short piece of non-conductive rope should be used at the ends of the dipole.
