Ecoflex-15 Plus Heatex coaxial cable, flame retardant

Ecoflex 15 Plus Heatex from SSB Electronic is a halogen-free and flame-retardant coaxial cable for installation in buildings, plants, ships and hazardous areas. The sharp rise in demand for low-attenuation cables that meet all relevant requirements in terms of flame retardancy and low emissions in the event of fire led to the development of Ecoflex cables with Heatex sheathing. Ecoflex cables with Heatex sheaths are flame-retardant and have low fire propagation. Heatex sheaths are low-smoke and the escape routes remain visible in the event of a fire. 

They are also halogen-free, do not contain any reactive elements such as fluorine, chlorine or bromine and do not produce any corrosive gases that can cause major damage to property. Standard coaxial cables with PVC sheaths, on the other hand, are not halogen-free and therefore cannot be used in hazardous areas. Another critical aspect of PVC cables is the possible propagation of flames in the event of fire - a risk that Ecoflex-Heatex cables reliably exclude. 

The UV stability of the resistant Heatex sheath also enables unrestricted outdoor use. Ecoflex 15 Plus Heatex has a 7-core hybrid inner conductor with an aluminum core and welded copper sheath. The surface quality and the corresponding HF properties are significantly better than those of conventional copper strands. 

Another plus is the double shielding: an overlapping copper foil and a copper braid on top ensure a high shielding factor of > 90 dB at 1 GHz.

Due to its fire protection class Cca, Ecoflex 15 Plus Heatex is suitable for installation in public buildings. Ecoflex 15 Plus Heatex is certified for indoor and outdoor railroad applications in accordance with requirement sets R15 and R16 of the EN 45545-2 standard.
