What restrictions do I have with the e-license?

With the E license, also known as the Class E amateur radio certificate in Germany, you have certain restrictions regarding the permitted frequency ranges and the maximum permitted transmission power compared to the higher A license. They are allowed to transmit on certain assigned frequency ranges in the shortwave band (e.g. 80m, 15m, 10m band) as well as on the VHF/UHF bands, but with a limited transmission power of a maximum of 100 watts PEP (Peak Envelope Power) on shortwave and 75 watts on the VHF/ UHF bands. In addition, your access to certain operating modes may be restricted and you may not set up relay stations. Nevertheless, the E-license allows you to actively participate in amateur radio and learn operating techniques on different bands.
