4O3A Signature Power Genius XL

The PowerGenius XL power amplifier is built with semiconductors and offers up to 2000W peak output power in SSB, or up to 1500W in RTTY and FT-8 at a cycle time of 50%. This performance is achieved by using two MRF 1K50H LDMOS transistors with 48V operating voltage, which promises an especially good linearity and purity of the signal. The power supply of the PowerGenius XL power amplifier is built in, it processes a single-phase mains voltage of 90 to 250V AC and is therefore well prepared for international operation, for example in DX-peditions.

The PA is of course prepared for remote operation. The PowerGenius XL is equipped for the connection of one or two transceivers (SO2R contest mode), for this purpose a variety of connectors are available - from the Band-Data connector, Icom CI-V and the serial CAT interface to an Ethernet connector. Especially FlexRadio transceivers can be connected with minimal effort (nice and simple), but of course any other transceiver can be used with the PA.

A 60dB attenuated 'predistortion' output couples the transmit signal back to analyze and adjust the signal with a suitable transceiver. This ensures maximum spectral purity and reduces spurious emissions as much as possible.

Operation with the PowerGenius XL PA is further simplified by protective mechanisms that protect the power amplifier and the transceiver. The temperature is monitored, warned if the SWR is too high, the power is reduced and much more. A color LC display provides information about the current power and operating status. The only control element is the Standby/Operate button on the front, everything else runs fully automatically. Nice and simple.
