Technical description OSCAR100JXX
With the 18-element OSCAR100JXX I0JXX offers a simple and inexpensive possibility to realize an uplink for operation over AMSAT QO-100. This antenna is optimized exactly for the required frequency range from 2400.0 to 2400.5 MHz.
The OSCAR100JXX with its one-piece, 80 cm long boom can be loaded with up to 100 watts on the transmit side and is coaxially fed via an N-connector (female).
As with all I0JXX products, the OSCAR100JXX has a high-quality finish and is therefore extremely robust and durable.
For the correct alignment of the OSCAR100JXX to the satellite position "25.9° East" a suitable tilt mount is also required.
Application description OSCAR100JXX
Amateur radio operation via the QO-100 satellite is a fascinating activity for radio amateurs in many parts of the world. What makes this operation so special is the fact that QO-100 is the first geostationary satellite for amateur radio service. This allows a constant connection with the satellite without the need to constantly track the antenna.
Because it is positioned in geostationary orbit above the equator, it is easily accessible from many regions, including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. Even parts of South America are within the footprint.
QO-100 is the amateur radio payload on the Es'hail-2 telecommunications satellite from Quatar. Another antenna is required to receive the 10 GHz downlink signal.
