Technical description IC-R6
Icom hand-held scanner IC-R6 is characterized by an exceptionally high search speed of up to 100 channels per second. The wide reception range from 100 kHz to 1310 MHz covers all relevant frequency ranges. The IC-R6 has an SMA antenna socket, a ferrite rod antenna for long and medium wave is built in. The supported operating modes are AM, FM and WFM (in the respective frequency ranges). 1300 memories can be designated with alphanumeric names, the large amount of memories can be organized in 22 memory banks for a better overview. CTCSS and DTCS tones can be evaluated.
Special attention was paid to low power consumption; up to 15 hours of uninterrupted reception are possible. Two NiMH batteries with 1400 mAh capacity and a corresponding charger are supplied. Instead of the rechargeable batteries, the scanner can also be operated with standard AA cells; a power supply cable for the car is available as an option (CP-18). Furthermore, the plug-on antenna, a belt clip and a wrist strap are included.
Application description IC-R6
The Icom hand-held scanner IC-R6 measures 58 x 86 x 29.8 mm and weighs only 200 g including antenna and battery. It is the ideal device for listening to everything from longwave to aeronautical radio, broadcasting on the AM or FM bands and amateur radio from 630 m to 23 cm, whether for information or monitoring important frequencies or for finding and eliminating sources of interference. It is also the ideal solution for amateur radio enthusiasts who do not have their own broadcasting licence to listen to all amateur radio bands from 630 m long wave to the short wave bands, the VHF bands 6 m, 2 m and 70 cm and even 23 cm at their own location at low cost. Thanks to the built-in ferrite antenna, no external antenna is necessary for long and medium wave, but it can of course be connected via an SMA socket that is also suitable for the highest frequencies.
