The Discone antenna is the most suitable design for very broadband omnidirectional antennas; it is often used in this form for military and commercial radio services. It is also space-saving, unobtrusive and easy to install.
Icom's AH-8000 offers, in addition to pure receive operation in the range from 100 to 3300 MHz (e.g. with a communications receiver), the possibility of transmit operation with up to 200 watts on numerous bands:
- VHF Airband (118 - 137 MHz)
- 2 m (144 - 148 MHz)
- 1.25 m (222 - 225 MHz)
- 70 cm (430 - 450 MHz)
- 33 cm (902 - 928 MHz)
- 23 cm (1240 - 1300 MHz)
- 13 cm (2300 - 2450 MHz)
With a height of just 936 mm, the AH-8000 can also be used where space is very limited. The mounting material included in the scope of delivery enables the antenna to be securely attached to masts with a diameter of 25 - 50 mm.
An N socket integrated in the base is available for connection; 15 m of antenna cable, equipped with N connectors (male), is supplied.
