The Icom ID-52E PLUS and ID-52E PLUS 60th anniversary are robust dual-band handheld radios with a wide range of technical features. The 2.3" color display allows a generous display of the settings as well as easy operation when programming and selecting the numerous menu options.

The transmitter can be set in 5 steps from 0.1 to 5 watts. FM, NFM and D-Star modulation types are available, as well as AM on the receiver side. The D-Star digital operating mode in particular enables worldwide operation via networked relay systems. The position information required for D-Star is provided by the built-in GPS/Glonass antenna.

In order to survive as a daily companion in the field, the radio must be suitably robust. The Icom ID-52E PLUS models offer protection class IPX7. This means protection against short-term submersion, so you don't have to hide the radio every time it rains. It can be operated safely using the conveniently arranged controls on the front and top.

In addition to the amateur radio bands of 144-146 and 430-440 MHz, the receiver also supports the WFM radio band as well as the VHF and UHF aviation radio bands with two receivers (dual watch). Simultaneous reception on the V/U, U/U and V/V bands is possible in all combinations. Even two DV signals can be received and decoded simultaneously! The standard equipment of the ID-52E PLUS with Bluetooth guarantees the possibility of use with wireless headsets and microphones. Control via free Android apps is also possible via Bluetooth.

Reliability on the move and all the functions you would expect from a top handheld radio - that's what the ID-52E PLUS from Icom offers. The extensive equipment guarantees fun and convenient operation in all situations. Simultaneous operation on two bands (Dualwatch, VV, VU, UU) is possible in all operating modes. This is because the ID-52E PLUS not only offers FM/NFM operation, but also the widespread digital operating mode D-Star. This enables worldwide operation via networked repeaters or the local hotspot. And of course the ID-52E PLUS can also be operated in D-Star terminal mode and access point mode!

The color display supports easy operation through clear presentation, the menu system is logically structured and very similar to other Icom devices, you immediately feel at home. The built-in Bluetooth interface can be used not only for audio functions (headset, hands-free system), but also for pairing with a smartphone - on which a number of free apps are then available. These programs then allow remote control of the small transceiver, as well as special functions such as image transfer of photos taken with the smartphone.

The supplied battery provides sufficient power. Two other sizes are available as an option. An empty battery case is also available. The sizes remain the same as for the predecessor and other current Icom devices. This simplifies the equipment. A new feature of the ID-52E PLUS is the USB-C socket: this not only provides remote control and programming options via USB, but also an almost universally available power source. The radio can be charged just like your smartphone, without removing the battery and without a special charging cradle.
