Technical description M-90MS
Dynamic microphone with frequency response optimised for speech. An
additional high-pass filter reduces the low frequencies from approx. 340
Hz by 6 dB per octave. A built-in isolation transformer provides
complete galvanic isolation and results in clean, hum-free modulation.
The
permanently attached cable has an integrated PTT button, the plug to
the radio is of the RJ-45 type, so this microphone fits directly to all
Yaesu transceivers with RJ-45 socket. To use the M-90MS with other Yaesu
transceivers with a round 8-pin microphone jack, the optional adapter
SCU-53 is required.
The M-90MS has a forward directivity which is enhanced by the pop
shield. This reduces ambient noise and only the speaker in front of the
microphone is transmitted.
Application description M-90MS
The M-90MS table microphone complements the Yaesu transceiver with an
accessory that is easy to use and outstanding in modulation quality.
Whether for the long QSO with the neighbour, or for the DX QSO with the
rare station, the M-90MS provides a pleasant and clearly understandable
modulation.
As a kit, the M-90MS is ideally suited for radio
amateurs who operate a special studio microphone boom at the radio
table. The cable fits all Yaesu transceivers with RJ-45 socket, an
optional adapter is available for the round 8 pin microphone socket.

Yaesu (Japan) not only supplies excellent transceivers for shortwave and VHF, but also rightly very popular accessories. The M-90MS positions itself as a microphone for demanding radio amateurs who do more than just occasional SSB. For simpler requirements, the M-70 is available, and for the most demanding needs in terms of voice quality, equaliser, etc., there is the M-100 or M-1 reference microphone from Yaesu. For users looking for a table microphone, the M-90 is also available as the M-90D with its own base and PTT.
