MFJ-419 Morse Elmer, Send and receive

The MFJ-419 CW Elmer is a pocket-sized multifunction training device for learning to receive and send Morse code correctly. 

There are 2 modes: the transmit mode and the receive mode. 

In the transmit mode, the CW Elmer acts like a training key. In this mode, the "sent" characters are displayed both as code and in English on the two-line dot matrix display. The analysis function helps you to improve your speed and timing.

The receive mode helps you to learn and understand Morse code. The speed can be adjusted according to the learning progress (2 Farnsworth speeds, distances adjustable).

By means of USB text mode you can send your own "real" texts to the MFJ-419 CW Elmer by means of a terminal program or text file and thus practice with real text. 

There is also a practice mode which helps you to train the correct length of "dits" and "dahs" as well as the correct spacing between characters and words.

In the menu it is very easy to set:

• WPM (5 - 40)
• Timing (Standard, Farnsworth 18, 25)
• Characters (Alpha only / Alpha and digits / Alpha, digits and punctuation)
• Side-Tone 200/400/600/800/100 Hz

In addition to the built-in key, custom Morse keys can be connected for extra hands-on practice. The sound can be played back either via the built-in speaker or via a headphone jack.

Power can be supplied via a 9 volt battery or USB connection.
