Technical description Monofil 5mm, 100m
Nylon Monofil is a new type of guy wire for antennas and masts, consisting of a single nylon 'wire'. Compared to the usual guy ropes, this very tough material has a very low elongation even in the presence of moisture.
Technical data monofilament (23101.x):
- Material: 6 SNIA nylon
- Specific weight: 1.14 g/cm³
- Specific breaking load: 35-40 kg/mm²
- Elongation at break: 15-20
- Diameter: 2 or 5 mm
- Breaking load: 120kg (2mmØ) / 700 kg (5mmØ)
Application description Monofil 5mm, 100m
Nylon monofilament is extremely light and weatherproof (temperature and UV resistant), the service life is specified at 8 - 10 years. The white material is very inconspicuous, despite the small diameter, the breaking load of the 5 mm wire is 700 Kg! To increase the breaking load, several wires can be easily used in parallel. Special fittings are not required, the material can be processed with standard thimbles and rope clamps.
The 2mm wire can be used e.g. for bracing antennas etc.
