Switching Power Supply 28A

The power supplies PSU-1228, PSU-1228.DIG and PSU-1228.PP offer everything in a smal lenclosure what a radio amateur needs power-wise. The supplies PSU-1228 and PSU-1228.DIG can be either switched to a fixed 13.8V voltage or to a regulatable voltage from 9 to 15V. The PSU-1228.PP is always wired for a fixed 13.8V voltage.

The maximum power load may peak up to 30A (20A continuous load). This is sufficient for practically all usual 100W transceivers. The built-in ventilator is temperature regulated. At low loads the fan does not move at all, the power supply is completely silent (not with PSU1228.PP). Only with longer lasting and higher loads the fan begins to turn to cool the compact electronics. To avoid the rarely occuring HF noise effects from the switching circuit a regulator can shift the frequency of the birdies.

The backlit analog meter on the PSU-1228 and PSU-1228.PP can be switched to show either the output voltage or the current load. The model PSU-1228.DIG has a backlit digital LC readout which shows both, voltage and current.

All controls are located on the front side of the power supply, the removeable input supply connection is on the rear. All three models habe large DC outlets on the rear (banana plugs, screw terminals). Additionally the model PSU-1228.DIG has banana sockets on the front, model PSU-1228.PP has 2x2 Anderson PowerPole connectors on the front. The front plate of the supplies have the same size and same design like the well known "SX-..." SWR meters and so fits perfectly into the ham shack.
