Technical description RXA Box
This RX preamplifier module for shortwave reception with 2N5109 transistor is based on the W7IUV design. It can be used as a preamplifier for RX antennas (Beverage, DHDL, Flag etc.). The gain is up to 18 dB, a variable attenuator (ATT) is built in, so the gain can be adjusted exactly as needed. In addition, the proper transistor bias voltage can be selected with a multi-turn potentiometer. Two relays provide bypass switching when no supply voltage is applied.
Power (DC 12 - 15 V) can be supplied by an external power supply or the "bias tee box" via coaxial cable.
This item is also available as a kit (all necessary components, PCB, housing).
Application description RXA Box
The preamplifier is designed for receive antennas (i.e.: no transmit operation allowed!). It can be used as buffer or driver amplifier.
The protection class IP56 allows outdoor operation.
