Technical description Preamp Module
This RX preamplifier module for shortwave reception with 2N5109 transistor is based on the W7IUV design. It can be used as a preamplifier for RX antennas (Beverage, DHDL, Flag etc.). The gain is up to 18 dB, a variable attenuator (ATT) is built in, so the gain can be adjusted exactly as needed. In addition, the proper transistor bias voltage can be selected with a multi-turn potentiometer. Two relays provide bypass switching when no supply voltage is applied.
The module is completely assembled, without a case.
Application description Preamp Module
The preamplifier is designed for receive antennas (i.e.: no transmit operation allowed!). It can be used as a buffer or small driver amplifier.
Since the board is only 50 x 50 mm small, it can also be accommodated in very small housings.
