Low-noise preamplifiers from German production by SSB Electronic!
These preamplifiers are mounted on the outside of the mast, near the antenna. The amplifiers are simply looped into the coaxial cable. Power is supplied remotely via the coaxial cable.
Many modern transceivers have a built-in remote feed for mast preamplifiers, so that in these cases a remote feed crossover is not necessary. Otherwise, various remote feed crossovers with (DCW-15, DCW 2004B, ...) and without (DCC-12) sequence control are available.
The amplifiers have a built-in HF-VOX, which ensures safe operation up to 100 watts. For higher transmitting powers, PTT control or the use of a sequence control (e.g. DCW-15) is required. The MHP versions require a sequence control!
Out-of-band signals are effectively filtered out by built-in helix filters. Real coaxial relays are used for transmit-receive switching. Each individual amplifier is carefully calibrated at various measuring stations before delivery.
The amplifiers are built into a double-shell, weatherproof housing: inside an HF-tight tinplate housing, outside a UV-resistant, seamless plastic housing with mast clamp.
With the duoband models, only one connection each is required for the combi antenna and the arrestor cable, due to the diplexers already built in.
The MHP series includes mast preamplifiers for the highest demands. The high gain is suitable for use with "weak signal" modes such as Tropo-DX or EME. The maximum permissible transmit power of 1500 W makes these preamplifiers very suitable for contest or EME operation.
The amplifiers are equipped with UV-resistant, weatherproof housings and
N-type sockets. Hot-dip galvanised clamps and stainless steel mounting
hardware are included.
Attention MHP models:
The switching of the MHP amplifier must be power-free! The MHP preamplifiers may only be operated with a correctly wired sequencer (e.g. Sequencer DCW 2004 B). Transmitting without a correctly wired sequencer will most probably damage the amplifier.
