These portable masts provide a practical solution for various applications, especially for ham radio enthusiasts who enjoy field activities such as POTA (Parks on the Air), IOTA (Islands on the Air), and DX expeditions, as well as those seeking temporary setups in their garden. With their rigidity, they are ideal for supporting wire antennas like dipoles, EFHW (End-Fed Half-Wave), or small Yagi antennas for VHF/UHF. These masts offer a reliable option for users needing flexible and dependable installations.

Our portable masts come in three lengths to suit different needs: 6 meters and 10 meters, available in either fiberglass or a hybrid material for added strength and durability, and 16 meters, exclusively in carbon for maximum rigidity and lightweight performance. Whether you prefer a shorter, more manageable option or a taller, more robust solution, these masts provide the right balance of flexibility and reliability.

Each model features a rugged bottom cap that protects against damage and keeps dirt out. The cap's diameter is specified in the technical data below as “bottom diameter (mm).”

Fiberglass, Hybrid, or Carbon?

Our fiberglass and hybrid masts offer consistent performance, with both available in the same lengths and weights. The key difference lies in rigidity: the hybrid material offers a 30% increase in stiffness compared to standard fiberglass, making it ideal for situations requiring extra stability, such as supporting larger or more complex antenna systems. Both options deliver excellent durability and portability, allowing you to choose the best fit for your specific needs.

For those seeking the highest performance, our 16-meter carbon mast is the top choice. Carbon fiber provides the optimal balance of rigidity and weight, offering superior strength while remaining lightweight and easy to handle. Due to the higher cost of carbon, this option is only available in the 16-meter version, making it perfect for users prioritizing maximum stability and reduced weight for taller installations.

It is important to note that the mast's inherent rigidity may not always be sufficient in challenging conditions. Therefore, using guying systems is essential to ensure optimal stability and safety during operation.

Accessories

To ensure the stability and optimal performance of the masts, we recommend using the tension clamp (SKU: 23005), as it provides a firm and secure grip. For 6 and 10-meter masts, the Mastrand kit (SKU: 23109.13) is the ideal choice to offer adequate support, while for the 16-meter mast, the longer version (SKU: 23109.21) is recommended, and we suggest a double tensioning system for added safety.

For secure anchoring, use the anchoring product (SKU: 23200), designed to ensure a firm fixation. Regarding tripods, the Diamond model (SKU: 18304.TRI) is perfect for 6-meter masts; for 10-meter masts, a segment needs to be removed to fit properly. For 16-meter masts, the recommended tripod is (SKU: 18320 with the head (SKU: 18312.RP).

Another option for securing the masts is a good base (SKU: 18390), which provides an effective and versatile alternative for safe mounting. In this solution, the 6-meter mast must be supplemented by 5 millimeters to ensure a proper fit. These options guarantee optimal performance and a reliable installation in any situation.
