Portable antenna with tuner for IC-705

This small "Wonderwand Widebander" antenna consists of a tuner and a telescopic radiator, as well as an adapter for any wires. The usable frequency range goes from 80 to 10m, for 2m and 70cm the tuning is switched to pass and the length of the antenna is adjusted.

In contrast to the already known "Widebander" antenna, this version has the PL connector straight out at the bottom and a BNC socket at the top. This means that it fits perfectly on the MBA-705 bracket of the IC-705 SKU: MBA-705, and any existing antenna can be adjusted in the same way as the supplied radiator. The adjustment is very simple and quick. First, it is tuned to maximum noise at reception, then to minimum SWR at low transmitting power. The max. transmitting power to be allowed is 10W.

Of course, the "Wonderwand Widebander" is not an antenna with which you are sure to win the next competition. But you will have fun, because the antenna is so small and light that you can always have it with you when you are on the road with the IC-705. And if you use a wire loop, which is hung up e.g. with a small portable mast, you will be able to achieve really good results with this small antenna at the next portable action.
