Yaesu FT-710 AESS/FIELD HF Transceiver

Technical description

The FT-710 is Yaesu's compact shortwave transceiver that adopts the SDR technology of the FT-DX101 and FT-DX10.

Operation is greatly simplified by the large 4.3" color display and, as with its larger siblings, a mouse and/or keyboard can be connected for easier control. Clearly recognizable LEDs on the side of the large VFO button indicate the current operating status (VFO-A, VFO-B, memory, clarifier/split). A 'Preset' function helps to set all parameters for FT-8 operation super-fast and optimally.

The transceiver offers 100W transmission power (adjustable from 5 to 100 W). The RF input stage also builds on the experience of the large FT-DX101 and FT-DX10 transceivers. A series of band filters for the amateur radio bands filter out unwanted signals from outside the band. The high-resolution 250 MHz synthesizer enables simultaneous reception of multiple signals.

To improve integration into the radio station, the FT-710 offers the option of connecting an external screen (DVI-D). In addition to the two USB ports (1x type A, 1x type B), there is also a port for control via the network. An SD memory card remembers all settings, memory contents and also records QSOs at the touch of a button. Firmware updates are also carried out very conveniently and securely via the SD card.

The built-in antenna tuner adjusts non-ideally tuned antennas at lightning speed. If an external tuner is required, the FT-710 can be connected to the Yaesu FC-40 tuner.

The Yaesu FT-710 is available in 2 versions:

AESS: Magical sound - with the FT-710 Acoustic Enhanced Speaker System in conjunction with the supplied SP-40 speaker. This external speaker can be mounted on either the left or right side of the device and blends harmoniously into the appearance.

FIELD: The Yaesu FT-710 Field is a variant of the FT-710 series to meet the requirements of portable operation. To save weight and valuable space, the SP-40 speaker is not included in the scope of delivery, but a practical carrying strap for the device is.

NOTE: Due to the current shortage of FT-710 “FIELD” transceivers, you will receive your device in the FT-710 “AESS” box. Instead of the loudspeaker, the MHG-1 carrying handle is included.
