The OMNI-296 is a very solid omni-directional Wifi antenna for the band 2.4 and 5 GHz. The antenna offers a gain of approx. 6 dBi at 2.4 and 7.5 dBi at 5.5 GHz. Antennas with higher gain are technically possible, but with a lower gain you get a larger beamwidth which makes this antenna suitable for uneven sites like contruction areas, buildings, camping places and much more.

A well known feature of Poynting antennas is their robustness, which the OMNI-296 also inherits. The central N socket is well protected against weather, the solid ABS enclosure makes this antennas also well suited for industrial environments. The OMNI-296 has one common N connector for both Wifi bands 2.4 and 5GHz, so only routers and accesspoints with one connector for both bands should be used. Another feature of this antenna is the coverage of the LTE band from 3.3 to 3.8 GHz (LTE bands 22, 42, 43), although these bands are not used currently in Europe. The antenna is delivered including a mast clamp. For additional protection against electro static charge the radiator is DC grounded.
